Throughout the week of March 2, NBC Nightly News reported on issues facing Hispanic Americans in a new series called We The People. The series includes reports on efforts to capitalize on the rapid growth of the Hispanic population, health issues among the Hispanic community, challenges surrounding education, and the struggle first generation immigrant families are facing in the current economic crisis. Noticiero Telemundo simultaneously aired two segments from the series, including a report on efforts by the Boy Scouts of America to recruit more Hispanic members, and a profile of a Stanford-educated former migrant worker who now works to increase the role of Hispanics in the medical profession.
